News Introducing the Digital Earth Australia Knowledge Hub

The Knowledge Hub has been designed to make it easier to find the information you are looking for. It contains three main sections:  

• Data products  

• User Guides and  

• DEA Notebooks 

You can access these by clicking on the tabs at the top of the site. There you will also find a new page: the Changelog. More on this later.  

Data products 

This is where you’ll find information about DEA’s data products (a.k.a. “product metadata”, the information was previously located on the Content Management Interface site). For example, on the DEA Coastlines page there is technical information, links to access the data, FAQs, and so much more. 

You can browse through all current data products in the sidebar. You can use the product’s History tab to find an old version of an existing product as well as details about product updates, changes and corrections. 

User guides 

User Guides is where you’ll find articles of content that were previously featured on the DEA User Guide site. For example, the DEA Explorer guide provides step-by-step instructions on using our DEA Explorer tool. 

DEA Notebooks 

DEA Notebooks is where you’ll find the Jupyter notebooks that were previously located on the DEA User Guide site. For example, the Calculating band indices notebook demonstrates how to use Python to access our data in order to calculate band indices. 

DEA Tech alerts and changelog 

One new feature we have introduced on the DEA Knowledge Hub is the DEA tech alerts and changelogs page. This dynamic page is where we post the latest updates to DEA’s products and services, and important service alerts.  

Watch this page to stay informed of major updates to our data products, new software releases, new documentation pages, and more. This page also provides status updates when maintenance is occurring, as well as notice of planned and unplanned outages.
